I have been working with wood in various ways since I was young. I became intrigued by joinery while building a small cabin in the woods. I began my formal study of fine woodworking with Gary Rogowski at his school, Northwest Woodworking School, in Portland, Oregon. From there I attended The Vermont woodworking School in Fairfax, Vermont.
I now apply my skills to custom projects out of a community shop also occupied by other upcoming woodworkers.
I tend towards Asian asthetics in my designs and strive to pay attention to the spirit of the wood through the application of this craft.
"With hammer in hand I bury my chisel into giving fibers. Soon they will reveal the shape of my heart, and the form they sprang from the seed to take, oh so long ago. Yet someday even the finest planed board and most carefully cut dovetail return to dust along with the hands that shaped them. But for this moment we reside here, chisel and hammer in hand with wood guiding me." SAN 2011
