This floor sitting tea table is Taiwanese style without the drain. The figured walnut slab was air dried and displays beautiful red and purple shade in the grain. The live edge was left on to reveal the artistry of the bark beetles (no worries, the beetles are long gone). Simple yet clean joinery make this table extremely sturdy while not competing for it's natural beauty. The top has been dished out to have a main well that catches overspill, and two shelves for cups and teapots. The top was finished in a durable marine spar varnish to handle hot water spills.
