Tang Credenza - Solid Cherry
This solid cherry credenza was inspired by Tang dynasty family altars. Family altars would sit in front of portraits or pieces of wood with the family members' names on them. Classically, they were tables that held offerings to the ancestors, including food, incense urns, candles, etc.
In this piece, the front door panels and drawer fronts all came from the same piece of cherry. They exhibit a pattern reminiscent of flames, giving this credenza unique character. My hope is that new details will continue to catch each viewer's eye, even after seeing it many times.
